Our History

The History of Our Ministry

Good Samaritan Network was established by Glenn and Beth Burns in Tallahassee, Florida in 2007. The roots of the ministry began from the desire to meet the physical and spiritual needs of individuals who were homeless, hurting, or hopeless. Our services have varied through the years, but the Christian ministry remains focused on serving men and women in crisis while sharing the gospel of Jesus. Good Samaritan Network, Inc. has grown to include residential programs for men and women, with the men’s residential program featuring prison re-entry services and support for men seeking to transform their lives, while the women’s program focuses on serving women in crisis. Individuals who reside at our facilities receive mentoring, services to meet their physical needs, and spiritual enrichment education. The Good Samaritan Super Thrift Store also features a daily food pantry (Monday–Friday) and provides other assistance such as clothing benevolence to help those needing a hand up.
