
Suzanne is currently retired following a 45-year professional career within the human services field. Prior to retirement, she served for 12 years as President & CEO of the Florida Association of Rehabilitation Facilities, a nonprofit agency that managed annual revenues of $31 Million and employed thousands of individuals with disabilities through production of goods and services. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Murray State University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work and minors in Psychology and Philosophy.
Suzanne has volunteered at the Good Samaritan Network and Chelsea House for several years and now serves as the Volunteer Coordinator. She is a member of Freedom Church.
Suzanne’s goal, while volunteering for Good Samaritan Network, is to build on the ministry work that has been started so that those who are served come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Michael Penney is a banking professional with 30 years experience in the Tallahassee market including the TC Federal Bank, Prime Meridian Bank, and Capital City Bank. Michael brings expertise in managing corporate and small business accounts and building long-term relationships with customers. He is also a licensed realtor with interests in real estate development.
Michael accepted Christ as Lord and Savior as a child and is an active member of Freedom Church. In the past he has assisted ministries in resolving debt. Michael brings a keen sense of financial management to the Good Samaritan Network Board of Directors combined with a Christian viewpoint.
Michael is married to Rhonda, and they have two children, Andrew and Madelyn. He is a graduate of Florida State University.

With over 30 years in the top level of the IT industry, Kevin has a lifetime of experience analyzing, organizing, and directing individual technology-based accounts that have exceeded $75 million dollars. Working for names like AT&T, Microsoft, and The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), Kevin brings technical expertise to this board that has assisted in keeping donor information safe and ensured that Good Samaritan Network is following the rules to the letter.
Throughout his life, Kevin has served on advisory boards for the Southwood Shared Resource Center (SSRC), State Chief Information Officer Council, Article V Technology Infrastructure Workgroup, and the Telecommunications Workgroup to the Criminal Justice and Juvenile Information Systems (CJJIS) Council, among others. His various advisory board positions have been designed to uphold the integrity and sovereignty of information collection, interpretation, and collection systems within major organizations in Florida.
At this level of professionalism and with great care and consideration, Kevin joined the Good Samaritan Network Board in 2021. His goal is to lead with integrity, advise with prudence, and uphold the bylaws of Good Samaritan Network, for the good of the GSN family and all they serve, as he has done professionally and in the community.

Dick Metcalf is a retired Marine who served 20 years in aircraft control. His professional background in the United States Marine Corps includes leadership and administration duties. His undergraduate degree is in Business Administration, and he has a master’s degree in education with a public administration focus.
Dick has been active in ministry work for many years including Sunday School teacher, AWANA leader, Director of Children & Youth ministries, Church Elder, Christian school teacher, and Church administrator. He grew up in a Christian home and accepted Christ as Savior in late teens before entering college. He attends Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Dick has been married to Dana for 53+ years. They have two adult children, Matthew and Manda.

Jay Young is a Realtor with Bevis Realty. He and his wife Jenni attend Center Point Church.
Jay has been married to Jenni for about 20 years and is father to four wonderful children. Jay and Jenni home school their children and are active in the Classical Education movement. They believe the purpose of education is to raise children in wisdom and virtue by teaching them to feed their souls on what is good, true, and beautiful.
Jay brings a history of working with populations experiencing homelessness, troubled youth, and men who participate in Celebrate Recovery. He grew up in Church and has been involved in ministry work for many years. He is burdened about the hardships facing the homeless, downtrodden, and those who have trouble living consistent Christian lives, and seeks to use his experiences to help others. He knows the Lord loves us all and calls us to love one another.
Jay reports he had been praying and seeking God’s direction about where to serve, when he was approached about serving on the GSN Board, so his immediate answer was yes.

Glen lives in Tallahassee, FL, with his wife Robin and has 2 adult children. He retired from Motorola after 37 years of service in 2020. Currently, he is the President and CEO of The Jeremiah Group, Inc., and works part time as a Manufacturer’s Representative for Motorola Solutions, Inc., handling the Department of Defense in Florida.

Glen has led numerous small men’s groups and large men’s ministry events and has completed 5 Israel Study Tours. He has also delivered over 250 lectures on both Old and New Testament Scriptures. His passions are Jewish Roots of the Christian Faith, studying God’s Word, fishing, golfing, and hiking.
Glen says God saved him in 1998, and he was confirmed in what was then the Episcopal church in May of 1999. He now attends St. Peter’s Anglican Cathedral in Tallahassee, FL. Glen serves on the Good Samaritan Network Board of Directors because God directed him to do so.

Merle Barrett began her professional journey managing various retail organizations before transitioning into business management roles within the legal and medical sectors. Her expertise spans process improvement, human resources, and finance. She is also a licensed real estate broker and owns her own real estate company based in Tallahassee. She has been active in a wide range of ministry work, including teaching in children’s ministry, sharing the gospel internationally, and serving in prison ministry. Her passion is to share the good news of the gospel and witness lives transformed through its message.
Merle came to faith in her early 20s and is an active member of Banner Church in Tallahassee. She is also the proud mother of one son, Jacob, and is blessed with five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
As a Board member, Merle hopes to share the good news of the gospel in a practical and compassionate way—providing support to the needy and displaced in Tallahassee through benevolence, residential programs, and other outreach efforts that serve the underserved. She is eager to contribute to the ministry and believes her background in business, finance, and ministry equips her to serve effectively on the GSN Board.

Andy and his wife Abbie were married in 1988. They reside in Crawfordville, FL. They have two adult sons and three grandchildren. Andy is an ordained minister who has served in many capacities over the last 30 years. He has served as an associate pastor, lead pastor, church planter, men’s program director at Good Samaritan, and Chaplain with the Florida Department of Corrections. Andy is currently the bi-vocational pastor of West Street Baptist in Bainbridge, Ga. After approval of the Good Samaritan Network board, Andy accepted the offer to become their Executive Director in September 2024.
Andy completed his undergraduate studies at Warren Wilson College in Asheville, N.C. He completed his graduate degree at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans, La. where he was awarded the Master of Divinity degree with a specialization in Urban Missions. In his free time, Andy loves spending time with family, relaxing on the lake in Tennessee, and pursing his passion of fishing.

Michael D. Mahan has served as the Men’s Program Director at Good Samaritan Network since 2018 and has been on staff for 11 years. He first came to Good Samaritan in the summer of 2013 with a passion for helping men rebuild their lives through faith, accountability, and practical support.
In addition to his leadership role, Michael teaches weekly classes at Jefferson CI and Liberty CI, where he invests in men seeking transformation and direction during incarceration.
Prior to joining Good Samaritan, Michael spent 16 years working as a Finance Director in the automotive industry, bringing valuable leadership, financial insight, and organizational experience to his ministry work.
Michael is also a proud U.S. Army veteran. He is the father of three grown children and grandfather to four grandchildren. His life experience, faith journey, and heart for restoration continue to shape his commitment to serving others.

Matthew Morris is an Indiana native who has lived in Tallahassee since 1999. He serves as the Store Manager of the Good Samaritan Network Thrift Store, bringing over 20 years of retail management and leadership experience into his role.
In addition to his retail background, Matthew has served as President of two Toastmasters clubs, demonstrating his commitment to leadership development, communication excellence, and team growth. He oversees daily operations, team development, merchandising, and customer engagement, striving to create an organized, welcoming environment that reflects excellence and integrity. He also manages one of our residential homes for men.
Under his leadership, the thrift store supports vital community outreach programs, including a men’s re-entry initiative, Chelsea House, and a weekly food pantry serving families in need. His Christian faith is the foundation of his leadership and service, guiding his commitment to ensuring that every donation and every purchase help further the mission of introducing people to Jesus Christ while strengthening the local community.

God led Paul to Good Samaritan Network in July 2019 as a summer intern and he has been on board ever since. He was promoted to Operations Manager in August 2023. Paul assists in the day-to-day operations of the GSN Thrift Store and Men’s Transformation Program and manages inventory for the Thrift Store. He also serves as House Manager at one of our men’s residential sites.
